I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

We moved to Williams oaks a year and half ago. The staff is wonderful and knows everyone personally. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, all eleven acres period. The people that live in the community are warm and friendly. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

The amazing raised garden beds and benches to sit in a quiet place surrounded by beauty is a wonderful attraction here. There is a great feeling of safety here as well, and if I am unsure of something, an answer is always found. The best part of living here is the many people with whom I eat every evening, who agree that WO is a wonderful place to live with the surrounding beauty, support of involved and caring staff, amenities and chance to live our lives with safety measures and a variety of interesting activities to meet almost every interest.

We moved in 2 years ago & have made new friends with both residents & staff. The grounds are impeccably beautiful; we are well fed; staff is available 24/7; activities are available every day & include interesting outings in clean, comfortable busses owned by Willamette Oaks; our apartment & the common areas are superbly maintained. This is our home.

"I am very happy and grateful to live in such a beautiful area of Eugene."

I am very happy and grateful to live in such a beautiful area of Eugene. The residents here are friendly and interesting. The staff is amazing. They support each other and work as a team. They treat all of us residents with dignity and respect. I oversee the garden where we have 22 beds. The garden looks out on the ponds and is such a relaxing place to work and rest. There is so much more I could say. I moved into Willamette Oaks more than five years ago. Stop by sometime.

We are in our 6th year at W.O. Between us we have gotten involved in several programs and games as well as bus trips to various events in the county. With the 12 acres, there is room to roam and walk. The Willamette River right behind us including a bench right next to the water. The walk/bike trail of 12 miles goes past us next to the river as well. We have had a garden bed for the time we have been here which is continually updated. Wildlife is abundant here including a gaggle of Canadian geese led by a white Pilgrim goose (nicknamed Egbert by the wait staff) The dining room is pleasant. The food is adequate and sometimes great. The staff is the best thing about W.O...all of them are friendly and say hello whenever you see them. They will also joke with you but always maintain a certain distance which is best in our opinion. The library where I help out has approximately 2,000 volumes and is well organized. The rooms are adequate and well insulated. If you are looking for a place to live...We can say it is the best deal in town.

It was a very hard decision to leave my house and yard but once I did I never looked back. I have a comfortable apartment overlooking the river with everything I need at hand. The staff are caring, fun to be around and always ready to help. I enjoy a variety of classes, field trips, tend my garden plot and try to walk daily on the bike path. I have made many new, interesting friends. Life is good here! Oh, and I don’t have to cook dinner!

moved here from Tucson, Arizona a year and a half ago — big change! With our peaceful location on the Willamette River and the beautiful grounds, it’s easy to lose a sense of how close we are to city traffic and services. I’m so glad I discovered Willamette Oaks! Perhaps the greatest value of this place is the sense of upbeat community. We all know and feel supported by one another. It starts at the top with staff members cheerfully working together and seeing each resident as an individual. The attitude spreads throughout, creating a comfortable, welcoming environment with individuality encouraged. From an assortment of fitness classes to creative writing to gardening to African drumming to art & craft classes to film presentations to educational lectures to walks along the river to holiday celebrations to brain-stimulating games to…, there’s always something going on. Oh— and Chica loves it here, too!

I've now been living at Willamette Oaks for nearly 3 years. I was impressed from the start with this facility and the staff that attend to us. I wrote a post shortly after moving here (shown below), but wanted to add that I have developed deep friendships over time with both other residents and staff. In short, Willamette Oaks not only fulfills my physical needs, but has enriched my life through these friendships.
Original Post: I've been living at Willamette Oaks for about 9 months and absolutely love it! The staff (including management, maintenance, housekeeping, social programs and dining services) are not only attentive to our needs, but they provide an atmosphere of genuine interest in the lives of all who live here. A variety of programs is offered for residents' participation spanning from health & wellness improvement using the fitness facility to activities for overall enjoyment and amusement. Finally, the sense of community among all the residents is like living with an enormous family who care about each other. An atmosphere that is a step above and beyond.

My wife and I have lived here for 10 years and love it. We checked other places before we chose this one but nothing could match the setting next to the Willamette River and Delta Ponds. I love to walk and can walk right out of he building onto the bike path. What we didn't realize when we moved in was what a great staff they have here. Their warmth and helpfulness makes this a real community. I feel very lucky to be living here.

Willamette Oaks seems to be more like a resort than a retirement home. With it's residents gardening plots and it's many activities such as the "move to improve" class, yoga classes, concerts, monthly parties, drum circle, and many other activities and the wonderful grounds for walking, is head and shoulders above other senior living communities.
The rooms are spacious and well kept, the help staff is wonderful and friendly and the dining is wonderful. Everything is designed to enhance the level of sociability between the residents and between the staff and residents making this a wonderful place to live.

I came to Willamette Oaks last August. Widowed in 2005, I moved from my Eugene house to an apartment in 2015 when maintenance became a problem. Apartment living solved maintenance worries, but after nine more years I decided that I needed more socialization and a prepared lunch or dinner once a day. Here there are many lively residents, probing interest groups and fitness activities. The “LifeMinded” motto says it all. Although I use a walker when I go any distance because of back issues, I was able to participate in the Eugene Marathon 5K because of the outstanding fitness staff. Raised beds make gardening a joy, and river views from both of my rooms nurture peace.

I am an outdoors person and my wife is an indoor person and we both love Willamette Oaks. It has something for everyone. My favorite daily activity is walking on the path alone the Willamette River. Willamette Oaks boarders on this river. There are wildlife, numerous city parks, City Rose Garden, and miles of paved paths.
She prefers to do her walking inside along with various activities provided. We are very comfortable that we made the right decision to come to Willamette Oaks. Come and see for yourself as everybody here is very welcoming and helpful.

I have lived at Willamette Oaks a little over a year and could not be more satisfied. The location (along the river), the extensive gardens and beautiful facility are like living in a well maintained resort. There are many and varied activities we can choose to participate in, beautiful dining experience with friendly and attentive wait staff, hair salon, gym and fitness classes, movies, music performances, and much more. But, the best thing about Willamette Oaks is the exceedingly helpful and friendly staff and the residences. I found a whole group of people I enjoy spending time with and have made many friends.

The staff is the greatest! We all love it here!
Two years after my wife died I realized I was lonely. I checked out Willamette Oaks and liked what I saw. It has a nice layout and it id right next to the Willamette River Bike Path! I just love it here - like being back in college. Every night I have dinner at a table for four or six - all fun people. We are all at the same chapter of our lives
One of the best things is “The Writing Group” which meets for an hour each week. We are all writing our memoirs and we share our experiences. The other class I like is “Move to Improve” - a 45 minute workout class every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday! And best of all is our excellent staff. Lots of high school and college kids trying to make a buck - they all love us and we love them!

This place is unlike any other. The residents and the staff together form such a welcoming community and it's all wrapped up in a gorgeous location along the Willamette River. Working here is a pleasure and I cannot wait to retire here myself. I couldn't recommend living (or working) here more. Truly a gem.

We chose this place based on a recommendation after visiting other options. My mother, the resident, loves it here and my family is very happy to have her here locally at such a great place with excellent staff, beautiful grounds, and just a great living experience for my mom who wants to be here.

I have lived at Willamette Oaks for a year and a half. It is a great place to live, with beautiful landscaping, river views, and access to the bike path. The residents are interesting, friendly people. The food is very good. A wide variety of activities are offered, and the staff is consistently helpful and kind. I can’t imagine a senior residence that is better than this one.

This independent retirement living center has grounds (vs cement) and is right on the river. The staff are wonderful, as are the residents. There are various communal dining plans or one can cook in one's own apartment. The apartments are quite varied - from studio and alcove to one and two bedroom, most with either patio or balcony, half with a river view (the other have with a sunrise over the mountains view). I thought it would be "an institution" but it is not. I thought it would be "just an apartment" but again it is not. It is its own wonderful community with lovely opportunities and activities to join in on or not. This is our home.

I have a friend that I visit at Willamette Oaks on a regular basis. This is a wonderful Independent living community with caring staff and beautiful apartments. It's located right next to the Riverwalk so the gardens are gorgeous.

My mom has been at WO since 2006 and at almost 101, she hopes to spend the rest of her life there. She exercises most weekdays, has her hair done in their beauty shop, plays Poker, Pokeno and Bingo, participates in a weekly drumming and percussion event, often attends the many music programs they offer in house, and has enjoyed having free transportation to grocery stores and cultural event around Lane County. The staff is very friendly and attentive to residents' needs, and the food is plentiful, nicely prepared and served. When we retire, we now know how good life can be in places like WO. We like to say that Mom is having a better time than we are, having so many in-house friends, entertainment, and services.
